QuickBooks Enterprise Bank Feeds Not Working? Import Bank Transactions from PDF Statements
When Enterprise stops downloading from the bank, the transactions are still on the monthly statement. Convert the statement PDF into a Web Connect .qbo file for Enterprise 24.0 and later, or an IIF file for 23.0 and older releases that Intuit has cut off, and import the month in minutes.

Drop the statement PDF here, check the transactions, then download .qbo or IIF.
No credit card required to try your first statement.
Quick answer
QuickBooks Enterprise bank feeds fail for two main reasons. Either the release is out of support (Enterprise 23.0 lost bank downloads and Web Connect on May 31, 2026), or the bank connection itself is broken and returns an OL or OLSU error. In both cases the statement PDF can be converted and imported, as .qbo on a supported release or as IIF on an older one.
Why your QuickBooks Enterprise bank feeds stopped
Enterprise runs the same Desktop banking engine as Pro and Premier, so it fails in the same four ways. The first one is new this year and catches a lot of multi-user offices that postponed an upgrade.
The release is out of support
Enterprise Solutions 23.0 and Accountant 23.0 were discontinued on May 31, 2026. Downloads, Web Connect and transaction uploads all stopped.
An OL or OLSU error
OLSU-1024, OL-222, OL-301 and their relatives, often right after an update or a bank change, and often open for weeks.
The bank changed its connection
A merger, a new treasury portal or a switch from Direct Connect to Web Connect, and the account needs re-enrolling before anything downloads.
The history is not there
A new company file, a new entity or a catch-up job needs months the bank's download window no longer covers.
Which import file your Enterprise release can take
Check the release first, under Help and About QuickBooks (press F2 for the product information window). It decides whether a Web Connect file will open at all.
| Enterprise release | Bank feeds and Web Connect | File to import from a PDF statement |
|---|---|---|
| Enterprise 24.0 and later | Supported. Direct Connect and Web Connect both work when the bank side does. | Web Connect .qbo, through File, Utilities, Import, Web Connect Files. |
| Enterprise 23.0 | Discontinued May 31, 2026. No downloads, no Web Connect, no transaction uploads. | IIF, through File, Utilities, Import, IIF Files. Or upgrade, since active Enterprise subscriptions include the current release. |
| Enterprise 22.0 and older | Already out of support. An October 2025 community thread on Enterprise 13.0 ended with "the bank feed won't work". | IIF. It is the one import format old Desktop releases still read. |

Built for the offices that stay on Enterprise
Enterprise shops are rarely small. They run inventory, job costing or advanced pricing, have several users in the file at once, and often sit on a hosted server. Upgrading mid-year means testing integrations and moving every user, so plenty of them run an older release for months. Meanwhile the month still has to close.
The bank statement is the one record that never stops arriving. Converting it keeps the registers current while IT schedules the upgrade or the bank sorts out its connection, and it fills gaps the feed will never reach, such as the months before an account was connected.

How to import bank transactions into QuickBooks Enterprise from a PDF
Pull the statements
Download each monthly statement PDF from online banking or the treasury portal, or scan the paper copies.
Convert and check
Drop the PDFs in, then compare the extracted rows with the opening and closing balance before you download anything.
Pick the file for your release
Choose .qbo for Enterprise 24.0 and later, IIF for 23.0 and older. Set the account type to credit card for card statements.
Import and reconcile
Import through File, Utilities, Import, oldest month first, then reconcile each statement against its ending balance.
Four ways to get bank transactions into Enterprise, compared
If the feed works, keep using it. It is included with a supported release and runs itself. This table is for the months when it does not.
| Route | What you get | Where it falls short |
|---|---|---|
| Fix the bank feed | Automatic downloads again, going forward. | Impossible on 23.0 and older. On current releases, bank-side errors can take days or weeks, and the feed only reaches back as far as the bank allows. |
| The bank's own QuickBooks download | A Web Connect file straight from online banking, where offered. | Needs the login, covers a limited recent window, and will not open on a discontinued release. |
| Typing from the statement | Works for a few lines. | An operating account with 300 lines a month is a full day of keying and a reconciliation full of transposed digits. |
| Statement PDF converted to .qbo or IIF | Every transaction on the statement, for any month you have a PDF for, on any release. | You still collect the statements, and it is a paid tool after the first try. It does not replace a working feed. |
Three Enterprise details that save a re-import
Match the IIF account name
An IIF file posts to an account by name. Ours writes "Checking" for bank statements and "Credit Card" for card statements. If your register is called "Operating 4471", rename the account in the file or temporarily in QuickBooks, or Enterprise will quietly create a new account with the name in the file.
Try it on a copy first
IIF imports cannot be undone with a button. On a file with many users and years of history, import the first month into a backup or a copy of the company, check the register, then run the real import.
Hosted Enterprise needs the file on the server
Double-clicking a .qbo on your own laptop does not reach a hosted session. Copy the file to a drive the hosted desktop can see, then import it from File, Utilities, Import inside that session.
Questions about QuickBooks Enterprise bank feeds
Why are my bank feeds not working in QuickBooks Enterprise?
Usually because the release is no longer supported or the bank connection is failing. Enterprise 23.0 lost bank feeds on May 31, 2026, and older releases lost them earlier. On a current release, an OL or OLSU error points to the bank or to the connection setup. Check the release under Help, About QuickBooks before troubleshooting anything else.
Does QuickBooks Enterprise 23.0 still download bank transactions?
No. Intuit's discontinuation policy for the 2023 releases, which covers Enterprise Solutions 23.0 and Enterprise Accountant 23.0, says you can no longer download transactions after May 31, 2026, and that Web Connect and transaction uploads are discontinued too. IIF import still works, so a converted IIF file is the route until you upgrade.
How do I import bank transactions into QuickBooks Enterprise?
On a supported release, import a Web Connect .qbo file through File, Utilities, Import, Web Connect Files, choose the existing account, and accept the transactions in the Bank Feeds center. On any release, an IIF file goes in through File, Utilities, Import, IIF Files. Both can be produced from the bank's PDF statement.
Can QuickBooks Enterprise import a PDF bank statement?
Not directly. QuickBooks Desktop, Enterprise included, has no PDF statement import. Only QuickBooks Online reads PDF statements, and only up to 350 KB. For Enterprise, convert the PDF to a .qbo or IIF file first, which takes a minute per statement here.
Should I use QBO or IIF for Enterprise?
Use .qbo on Enterprise 24.0 and later. It goes through the Bank Feeds review screen, so you can match and categorize each line before it posts. Use IIF on 23.0 and older, where Web Connect no longer opens. IIF posts straight to the register, so check it on a copy of the file first.
Will a converted statement duplicate transactions the feed already downloaded?
It can. The converted file carries its own transaction IDs, which differ from the ones the bank sent, so QuickBooks will not recognize the overlap. Import only the months the feed missed, or delete the overlapping dates from the review screen before accepting.
Does this work for credit card statements in Enterprise?
Yes. Pick the credit card account type and the .qbo is written as a credit card statement, so purchases post as charges and payments as credits. The IIF version writes CREDIT CARD and CCARD REFUND transactions to an account named "Credit Card".
How much does it cost to convert statements for QuickBooks Enterprise?
Starter is $49 a month for 50 documents, Plus is $149 for 200, and Pro is $499 for unlimited, with yearly billing at half the monthly rate. You can convert one statement without an account to see the result on screen before paying.
Close the month without waiting on the bank feed
Convert this month's statement to .qbo or IIF and have it in Enterprise before the feed ticket gets an answer.
