Home Depot Commercial Account QuickBooks Import: Convert Home Depot Credit Card PDF Statements to QBO
Drop a Home Depot commercial account or Pro Xtra credit card statement PDF into the converter, check the charges against the statement balance, and download a .qbo Web Connect file written as a credit card account. It imports into the Home Depot card register in QuickBooks Online or Desktop, with purchases as charges and payments and returns as credits.
Quick answer
The QuickBooks bank connection for Home Depot commercial accounts through Citi no longer works: in August 2026 Intuit staff wrote that Citi confirmed the provider "has been decommissioned." To keep the card account reconciled, save the monthly statement PDFs, convert them to .qbo, and import them. QuickBooks Online: Transactions, Bank transactions, Link account, Upload from file. QuickBooks Desktop: File, Utilities, Import, Web Connect Files.

Why your Home Depot commercial account stopped syncing with QuickBooks
Home Depot commercial accounts and Pro Xtra credit cards are issued through Citi, and QuickBooks reached them through a Citi connection built for those accounts. In an August 2026 QuickBooks Community thread, a contractor's bookkeeper reported the commercial account had stopped syncing, and after removing it, only the consumer Home Depot card showed up when they tried to reconnect. Three days later the QuickBooks Team closed the investigation: "Citi has confirmed that this provider has been decommissioned." Their only suggestions were to ask the bank about file upload options or another provider.
For a contractor that puts most materials on the Home Depot account, that leaves the largest card in the books with no feed. The monthly statement is still issued, and it is the one record that lists every charge, payment, return and finance charge in the order the balance was built. Converting it is how the account gets reconciled again.
| Situation | What happens | What gets the transactions in |
|---|---|---|
| The commercial account disappeared from Bank transactions | The Citi provider for Home Depot commercial accounts is decommissioned (QuickBooks Team, August 22, 2026). Reconnecting finds only the consumer card option. | Monthly statement PDFs converted to .qbo and uploaded into the existing card account. |
| Error 103, 106 or 324 on refresh | QuickBooks Community users have reported these sign-in and refresh errors on Home Depot cards for years, with Home Depot and Intuit each pointing at the other. | Stop retrying the feed for the closed month. Import the statement and move on. |
| The Pro Xtra QuickBooks export spins and imports nothing | A 2023 QuickBooks Community thread describes clicking the QuickBooks export in Pro Xtra purchase history and getting spinning dots with no import. Intuit's reply was to clear the cache and contact Home Depot. | The statement covers the same purchases plus payments, returns and finance charges. |
| You need last year for the tax return | A feed that is gone cannot reach back, and a new connection only pulls a short recent window even when it works. | Twelve statements converted and imported oldest first. |
| You run QuickBooks Desktop | Desktop imports downloaded transactions only as .qbo Web Connect files. A spreadsheet of Home Depot activity cannot go into a Desktop card register as a bank download. | QBO for supported Desktop versions, IIF for versions that no longer take Web Connect. |

Pro Xtra QuickBooks sync or the card statement: which one reconciles
Home Depot has its own QuickBooks link inside Pro Xtra purchase history, and it is worth knowing exactly what it does before you pay for anything. Home Depot says you can export up to 390 transactions at a time, that Home Depot must exist as a vendor in QuickBooks, and that all transactions export at the summary level under a credit card account it calls Home Depot QuickBooks Purchases.
That is a purchase log, not a card register. It records what was bought, which is useful for job costing, but it does not carry the payments you made to the account or the finance charges, and it lands in its own account instead of the Home Depot card you reconcile against the Citi statement. Plenty of contractors use both: the sync for job names on purchases, the statement for the account balance.

- Included with Pro Xtra
Statement PDF converted to QBO

- One file per statement, checked against the new balance before download
- Imports into the Home Depot card account you already have
- Works for months the feed never covered and for Desktop
- From $49 a month for 50 statements
How to import a Home Depot commercial account statement into QuickBooks
Save the statements
Sign in to the online account management site for your Home Depot commercial account or Pro Xtra card, open the statements section, and save each month you need as a PDF. Start with the month after the last one reconciled in QuickBooks.
Convert and check
Drop the PDFs into the converter. Purchases, returns, payments and finance charges come out with dates, store or order references and amounts. Compare the total with the previous and new balance and fix any row that disagrees.
Download QBO or IIF
QBO for QuickBooks Online and supported Desktop versions. IIF for older Desktop versions, written as CREDIT CARD charges and CCARD REFUND credits on a credit card account.
Import and reconcile
Online: Transactions, Bank transactions, Link account, Upload from file, then choose the Home Depot card account. Desktop: File, Utilities, Import, Web Connect Files. Then reconcile to the statement's new balance.
Three things that go wrong with Home Depot account imports
A supply-house card is busier than most business cards: dozens of small tickets, frequent returns, and a payment or two a month. Each of those is a place a hand-built or checking-account file slips.
Charges post as deposits
Card statements print purchases as positive amounts. Carry that sign into a QuickBooks file and every lumber run lands as money in. Our export writes card statements in the account view, so purchases are charges and payments are credits.
Returns are dropped or doubled
Returned materials show as credits on the statement. Leave them out and job costs are overstated; enter them from receipts and the statement import doubles them. Take them from the statement once, as refunds, and match receipts against them.
The balance never ties out
Finance charges and late fees sit in their own block on the statement. A purchase-only import leaves the register short by exactly those amounts. Check the extracted total against the new balance before you download.
Home Depot account to QuickBooks: four routes compared
If your card still connects and the transactions arrive, keep the feed. The converter earns its fee when the feed is gone, when you need history, or when you keep books for several contractors.
| Route | Best for | Limits | Cost |
|---|---|---|---|
| QuickBooks bank feed | Consumer Home Depot cards that still connect | Citi provider for commercial accounts decommissioned in 2026; short history window | Included |
| Pro Xtra purchase history export | Job names on purchases | 390 transactions per export, summary level, separate account, no payments or finance charges | Included with Pro Xtra |
| QuickBooks Online PDF upload | One short statement | 350 KB, English only; some statements held for review by Intuit; not in Desktop | Included |
| PDF to QBO converter | Reconciling the account, catch-up years, Desktop, many contractor clients | You review the rows before import | From $49 a month for 50 documents |
Who converts Home Depot account statements for QuickBooks
Bookkeepers for trades clients
Three of your remodelers and a roofer put materials on Home Depot commercial accounts, and all four feeds died at once. Converting each client's statement is a few minutes a month per account, instead of rebuilding the register from receipts.
Contractors closing the year
The account stopped syncing months ago and your CPA wants the materials total. Twelve statements, converted and imported oldest first, give you a card account that reconciles to the December balance.
Desktop shops on job costing
You run QuickBooks Desktop or Enterprise for its job reports and the Home Depot feed never worked reliably there. A Web Connect file from the statement goes into the card register, and you assign customers and jobs in the bank feed window.
Questions about Home Depot accounts and QuickBooks
Why is my Home Depot commercial account not syncing with QuickBooks?
Because the connection itself is gone. In August 2026 the QuickBooks Team closed its investigation with Citi's confirmation that the provider for Home Depot commercial accounts has been decommissioned. Reconnecting will not bring it back. Import the monthly statements as .qbo files into the same card account instead.
How do I link my Home Depot credit card to QuickBooks?
For a consumer Home Depot card, go to Transactions, Bank transactions, Link account and search for Home Depot. For a commercial account, the Citi provider is decommissioned, so there is nothing to link. Convert the statement PDF to .qbo and use Upload from file to fill the card account.
Does Home Depot Pro Xtra integrate with QuickBooks?
Yes, for purchases. Pro Xtra purchase history has a QuickBooks link that exports up to 390 transactions at summary level into a card account named Home Depot QuickBooks Purchases, with Home Depot set up as a vendor. It does not bring in statement payments or finance charges, so it does not reconcile the account.
Can I import Home Depot transactions into QuickBooks Desktop?
Yes, as a Web Connect file. Desktop imports downloaded bank and card transactions only as .qbo files, so convert the statement PDF to .qbo and use File, Utilities, Import, Web Connect Files. For a Desktop version that no longer accepts Web Connect, download an IIF file instead.
How do I record Home Depot returns in QuickBooks?
Take them from the statement, where each return appears as a credit to the account. Imported from a converted statement, a return lands as a refund in the card register, which you then assign to the same job and expense account as the original purchase so job costs come out right.
Will importing statements duplicate purchases from the Pro Xtra export?
Only if both land in the same account. The Pro Xtra export posts to its own Home Depot QuickBooks Purchases account; the statement goes into your Home Depot card account. Pick one as the book of record for the expense and use the other as reference, or match the purchases instead of adding them twice.
Does this work for Lowe's and other supply-house accounts?
Yes. The converter reads any credit card or charge account statement PDF, so Lowe's accounts, lumberyard house accounts on a card, and fuel cards convert the same way. Scanned and photographed statements are read with OCR.
How much does it cost to convert Home Depot statements to QBO?
Starter is $49 a month for 50 documents, Plus is $149 for 200 and Pro is $499 for unlimited, with yearly billing at half the monthly rate. One statement is one document, so a year of one Home Depot account fits in Starter. You can try a statement before creating an account.
